Winchester Jazz Festival presents Edana Minghella live at The Railway Inn!
Recently described as “flawless, stylish and captivating” (The Critic, Brighton Argus), Edana Minghella is a highly successful jazz vocalist, regularly playing at festivals and to full houses at home and abroad. Influenced by the great divas, from Sarah Vaughan to Joni Mitchell, Edana is currently attracting much attention in the jazz world. Her debut CD, Still on my Feet, was dedicated to her brother, Oscar-winning director Anthony Minghella. Her second album, All or Nothing, was launched at London’s Pizza Express Jazz Club last year to wide acclaim. A collection of songs from Billie Holiday’s extensive repertoire, the album showcases Edana’s great strengths: raw emotion and an astonishing capacity to touch her audience deeply. Together with her fabulous band of world class musicians at Winchester Jazz Festival for the first time, Edana brings her unique style to beautiful songs of love and longing that move her audience to both tears and joy.
Edana Minghella (vocals), Barry Green (piano), Pete Maxfield (double bass), Lee Goodall (alto sax).
