Wotton-under-Edge Dramatic Society
Wotton-under-Edge Dramatic Society is one of Gloucestershire’s oldest amateur theatre groups, with a series of over 200 productions since its formation in 1932. Classic and modern dramas provide serious entertainment for the discerning theatregoer. Popular pantomimes, specially written by Society members Jane Parker and Anthony Young, regularly delight audiences of all ages. Our performances are held in a number of venues including Wotton-under-Edge Town Hall, Under The Edge Arts and in our own 'Studio Theatre' at the newly refurbished Morley Green Room - The Home of Theatre in Wotton - which also serves as the society's rehearsal space and store for the substantial stock of props, costumes and stage equipment . There have also been occasional productions “on tour”, in local churches or even a pub garden. Shows are regularly entered for county drama awards and regional Rose Bowl competitions, garnering many prizes for acting, direction, costumes and production.
